New procedural Fabric Collection created using Allegorithmic’s new hybrid materials tech

Substance Source gets biggest material drop yet

Allegorithmic has released 150 ready-to-use fabric materials as part of the new Collection for Substance Source.

The drop is the biggest yet for the library, which now totals over 1000 materials, and features Allegorithmic’s new hybrid materials technology that makes fabrics fully procedural.

Instead of simply scanning material assets and uploading them into the system, Allegorithmic created a production pipeline from the ground up. Using Substance Designer 6’s new scan processing tools, Allegorithmic loaded captures and applied procedural parameters, resulting in flexible materials that can be moulded to the user’s vision.

Allegorithmic also created a new set of colour presets that can be filtered by season. Cool colours in winter, warm colours in summer, each palette will be accessible in Substance Player whenever a material is loaded. Users no longer have to start from a blank slate, they can test or tweak at will, relying on colour combinations handpicked by a fashion expert.

Substance Source is available to Substance Live users for $19.90/month for Indie users and $99.90/month for Pro users.
