For MoGraph, there is a new Voronoi Fracturing object that creates procedural parts from a controlled distribution of destruction, as well as the ReEffector which works like a layer system for Effector setups.
The Line Cut tool is a new knife tool that lets you cut across one or multiple objects with an interactive preview. Joining it, is the Plane Cut tool for creating new edges using the Local, World and Camera axes.
Editing footage has also been vastly improved in R18, with object tracking now enabling you to mix live-action footage with 3D objects and the Shadow Catcher shader capturing shadows and ambient occlusion from 3D objects for compositing over footage. Other new shaders include a Thin Film shader that can create iridescent rainbow bubble effects and oil slicks, or for adding fingerprints and oily residue effects.
Existing Maxon customers as of 1 September 2016 will get a free upgrade to R18.
