After having confirmed to us that the company won’t be making their way to SIGGRAPH 2014 a few weeks ago, Pixologic have announced exactly what they will be doing instead. This year, for anyone hoping to catch an update on what the makers of the world’s leading 3D sculpting application are working on – including an actual sneak preview of the latest version of ZBrush (which incidentally, was first presented to the world at SIGGRAPH in 1999) – there’ll be the ZBrush Summit to attend.
Taking place on the grounds of the Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Los Angeles on the 8th, 9th, and 10th of August this year, the event sounds very exciting. It will host the likes of Disney, Legacy Effects, Ubisoft, Hasbro,3D Systems/Gentle Giant, Rafael Grassetti, Dominic Qwek, and Maarten Verhoeven, allowing attendees to see artists in action as well as ask their questions in interactive Q&A sessions.
“The ZBrush Summit is the natural extension of our efforts to showcase the magic of seeing ZBrush in action,” said Pixologic Inc. Brand Manager, Louie Tucci. “By incorporating LIVE streaming, we have an opportunity to do this while reaching a global audience. It’s an exciting endeavor and allows for more people to engage with ZBrush in a new way.”
For those of us not lucky enough to live in LA, the show will also be streaming live across the internet in HD, giving artists across the globe the ability to connect to industry leaders and artists as well as of course, catch that ZBrush sneak preview.
