With the official release of KATANA 1.0 also comes the announcement that ILM has purchased a site license of the look development and lighting tool, replacing the conventional CG pipeline with a flexible recipe-based asset workflow. Already in use on its upcoming productions, KATANA has boosted the production pipeline across the ILM and LucasFilm companies and will be deployed at both the San Francisco and Singapore studios.

Built from the ground up with the needs of modern productions in mind, it will integrate with current pipelines, shader libraries and workflow tools, while its scalability and flexibilty will make it suitable for even the most demanding productions and complicated shots.
