Bio: Kurt Miller is a freelance illustrator whose client list includes Activision, Baen Books, Electronic Arts, Hasbro, Simon schuster and Take Two Interactive. He's been in the visual communications field since the 1990's, going back to the early days of Photoshop. For eight years Kurt was an in-house illustrator for a computer gaming company. Currently a self-employed illustrator, you can find Kurt's work on sci-fi book covers or on adventurous board and computer game covers.

This image was created for National Geographic on the history of the Black Loyalists who fought for the British in the American Revolutionary War, the British promised enslaved people their freedom if they ran away from their masters to fight on the side of the British Army. This image was created in 3D max, Poser, Photoshop with a Wacom tablet. Hannibal marching through the Alps for a surprise attack on Italy. This is a board game cover for Valley Games. The game title is Hannibal's father (Hamilcar Barca)who is fighting Rome in the First Punic War. Hamilcar commanded Carthaginian expedition to Spain in 237 BC, and for 8 years expanded the territory of Carthage in Spain before dying in battle in 228 BC. This cover art was for a Board game cover expansion from the original Hannibal game. Caron with the longbow and her mercenaries bodyguards are rebellion against her evil uncle on a mining planet. Valley Games had commissioned me to illustrate an old Avalon Hill game of fantasy creature battle among each other. Book cover for David Drake This is one of my first 3D art back in 1999, knowing that my airbrush days will soon be replaced by the computer. Bryce and 3Ds Max were all new to me and not really knowing how to model sails on a British and Spaniards tall ship, I went ahead and relied on my traditional skills and paint them in Photoshop. Also the waves are actually mountains with a water texture and later painted the wakes in Photoshop. I hope you enjoy this one. This cover art was created in-house for Talonsoft's computer game Cover art for the new Duke Nukem, which should be released soon. Image mostly created in Poser and Photoshop . Belt created in 3D max and background in Bryce the nuclear explosion painted in Photoshop.
