The world above ... and it doesn't look like heaven or hell, it's not black and white as we think it will be. Dedicated to one of the most important inventors and geniuses of 20th century, Nikola Tesla. My idea was to create simple illustration similar to old photos of Nikola next to the Tesla coil, but presented in a different, unique and funny way. At the time I was 4 something happened to me that I could not understand... at that old abandoned house where I played all the time. First the moment of silence spread through the sorrounding. Then I felt like someone is watching me, and calling ... and in the split of second the time stoped and the light burned beside me. But I wasn't scared, I didn't think that it was a monster, like from the stories I heard all the time. I only knew that this vision was meant for me, it apeared by intention. As the time faded away and I got older I nearly forgot about that moment, until I met and fell in love with you. Now, I know that it wasn't just a light and memory, it was the birth of my soulmate, it was a message from above that someone else came to the world, someone that will complete the meaning of my life. On Friday DARG facility 3 (dark energy research group) ran their first experiment in reactor. Unfortunately something went wrong, and the strange non destructive explosion happened, forming a giant plasma bubble around facility. Unable to understand what they created scientists decided to evacuate facility, and monitor the phenomenon from distance. But, on the third day something devastating happened ... implosion forming around planet and imploding towards plasma bubble wiped out life of every living organism on earth... and again, without any material destruction. Everything just died. Ironically as it gets, the plasma that was created in first explosion was actually a protective shield, a safe zone... and not only that, it was bursting with some strange sort of energy amplifying life in all organisms left inside the plasma. The problem was that except for microorganisms, the only biological life left in the bubble was the seed in the trash... which after 1 year grew and formed what's known as the tree of resurrection. What scientists never knew was that dark energy was actually parallel spiritual world formed to give life to all biological life on earth... but, as with other things in nature it had its defense mechanism which human curiosity triggered. The proof that life is more than just a matter, actually came on our last day. Maybe it was never our destiny to get the answer to ultimate question. And you really think dinosaurs died from devastating asteroid impact?? Remember when we were young, we didn't know what's good and what's bad... how we sometimes destroyed our toys and our parents told us how wrong that was, and that we should try to imagine that that toy was a real person or an animal. Most of us develop emotional intelligence over young age, we learn that what we did to that toy was wrong and to us that toy was the only lesson we needed. But there is also a dark side of humanity, those few that actually enjoyed hurting that toy, those few that, as they grew up, left their tortured toys behind and took a wrong turn... To all the peace loving folks around this world! Childhood, Christmas time, friends, family, joy, happiness ... and, a new toy on my desk. Toy that will define my life, responsible for such a beautiful experiences from my childhood. Kids imaginary world, lost over time, a glimpse of it left in my head, a glimpse of priceless memory. But, it wouldn't be such a great experience if it wasn't for my friends... do you guys remember how we spent hours playing games, competing and exploring these new digital frontiers? I must admit I had Atari ST not Amiga ;), but my friend had Amiga and it had way better graphics and sound than my ST. So that's the reason why I decided to model Amiga for this illustration, out of respect. :) Mad, really mad scientist doing all kind of ugly experiments. Slow Decay was inspired by the animated movie Ghost In The Shell. The idea of dark dirty polluted future was the main point of this picture. It shows the real future of human's world. Cold life and warm memories that keep people going forward. I tried to invoke the feling of abadoned place, the someones past, the place where someone grow up, and to create that enviroment far away from city lights, somewhere in mountains, far away from sight. Is this the end, is this my last step? Did I make my decisions through my life or was I predestined to follow the steps which were already there? Last fight of mother nature, trying to save Earth.
