This was inspired on the Tron legacy house, it really inspired me to create a little something that would allude to it.

In most cases, large meant terrifying, and beast like this could definitely be considered scary. However, my intention with this piece was to show the beauty and gentleness of this creature. Though large and imposing he possess many attributes found on natural living herbivores. I wouldn't be surprised if behind that long bristly mouth were all flat grinding teeth.
He was great fun to do. He came from a period of all humanoid figures, I simply couldn't do another, so I decided to a quadruped was due.
I composed him taking up a majority of the frame, his massive shoulder further reassuring you of his strength. And the soft nature of the render has you not fear him, but feel for him. Im happy with the success of this piece.

This is the first really detailed 3D model I have ever made. It's based on the mobile phone from the movie Matrix Reloaded. It started life as being something quite simplistic for a speed modelling challenge on the Truespace forum and then took on a life all of its own and ended up as something fairly complex.

As a big fan of Gerry Anderson's numerous cult TV series, I thought that trying to model some of his iconic vehicle designs would provide a nice challenge as I seek to improve on my skills. Comments most welcome.

Here is a second image based on my model of the mobile phone from the movie Matrix Reloaded. Here I have tried to create an environment that hopefully wouldn't look too out of place in the movie itself. I hope you like the result and as always, comments are most welcome.

This model was inspired by some popular computer games and the United States Army's 2 billion dollar principle modernization program - Future Combat Systems(FCS). Part of the FCS project is to develop unmanned Armed Robotic Vehicles (ARV) which will assist frontline troops. Being a keen follower of these projects and seeing the systems that are currently under development, my model represents where I think the program will be a few years down the line.

My first attempt at a more sophisticated light setup including projection and lightmaps.

This image was made in response to a Community Challenge where the tasking was to produce a scene that looked in to the future, but with a distinct retro look.

I have always been impressed with the model work done by ILM on the original Star Wars trilogy. However, I have never before attempted to recreate any of the designs in 3D. And, as I desperately need to improve my texturing skills, I though what better subject than the worn and grubby universe envisioned by George Lucas. To that end, I'm now working on recreating some scenes from the first film's climatic battle. This first model is of one of the Death Star's Turbo Laser Towers. As always, C & C most welcome.

Here is a robot I created using Alias Studio Tools. Originally it was going to be a simpler design for an animation I was thinking about creating but as I modelled it, it ended up being an exercise in the level of detail I could produce.
