subtly disturbing is the feeling I went for when sculpting this piece. A clown with Appalachia, smiling deep within you. His face reads of a darker soul than his make up passes off.
I had fun reworking an old model into this idea I had. I feel this evokes the dark mood I wanted to go for with out going all out in your face gothic. I knew that this piece could go standard horror, but I also knew that that is not what I wanted to do with this piece. Subtlety for me is more disturbing than shocking every will be.

A powerful Pose for a powerful Creature. Strength was the feeling I was trying to convey. Not physical, but strength of persona. You know his power, you can feel it. He make no qualms about it. His pose harks back to old gladiator statues, his face as brutish as they come. He however isn't trying to scare you. The compostion places you at equal levels. He is calmly asserting himself.
